Breast Health Event with Dr. Barclay-White

Our in-store breast health event was informative and so much fun!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month probably makes you think of self-breast checks and the dreaded mammography you need to schedule. While these things are both essential to breast health, exciting advancements are being made in the field of breast cancer screening and treatment.

This past Sunday, October 7th, Dr. Belinda Barclay-White of Breastnet, came to blossoms & beehives to speak to a group of women about breast health and new methods of breast cancer screening and treatment. She explained the relevance of breast density to screening methods, specifically ultrasound screening versus mammography, and she told us about an exciting new procedure she has been using to treat small breast cancers: cryotherapy.

The group of women all learned so much and felt so empowered after such an informative talk, and, of course, we enjoyed getting to know each other and catching up with friends over some delicious pastries from Vincent’s.
